c.1963 Suzuki Edwards U Control Speed King Racer In Original Box

Unusual battery operated tin litho "Speed King" racing car features tethered "U-Control" operating mechanism. Once the batteries have been installed and switched to "on" pulling the right string will stop the car. Pulling the left restarts it. Tethered distance is 33". Includes original box and complete "U-Control" mechanism.

The racer itself is all tin litho, lozenge shape, with flat front grill and rounded tail. It's primarily gold and red. It has a single integrated driver with original celluloid windshield. Just behind him is 3" long tapered fish-tail which extends to the rear of the car and is flanked by two number 7's. The S&E trademark lies on the rear body, just to the left side of the fish-tail. A large number 7 also lays prominently on the front hood. The tires are solid black rubber and have large polished, embossed tin centers.

The "U Control" consists of two sturdy red dyed cords tied to a 4" wide contoured tin litho grip. The cords are 33" as previously mentioned. It uses two D-cell batteries and best of all works great!

The box was illustrated with an accurate drawing of the actual toy over most of the front panel. In addition to the toy name and manufacturer trademark, the U.S. distributor, Rosko Toy, name appears in two corners. The front and rear aprons include schematics for operating the U-Control mechanism.
